An educational charity approach us to help them improve their corporate governance arrangements. They had started as a micro charity a few years earlier and had grown quickly in a short space of time. Problems and challenges soon started to emerge: it became evident that the basic systems that were established for making and monitoring decisions were no longer fit for purpose.
This was compounded by some operational control difficulties that resulted in a financial loss on a project that they supported. We worked with the charity’s management team and trustees to overhaul that framework for governing and managing. This included developing financial control frameworks, schemes for delegation, board and committee processes and performance and impact reporting.
